The Online Clipboard That Actually Encrypts Your Text

Most online clipboards store your text in plain readable form. PingPaste encrypts everything in your browser with AES-256-GCM before it touches the server — and deletes it after one use.

How the Encryption Works

Most clipboard tools say they are "secure" because they use HTTPS. But HTTPS only protects data in transit — the server still receives and stores your text in readable form. PingPaste is different.

✍️
You type or paste your text
Your content stays on your device at this point — nothing has been sent anywhere.
🔐
Browser generates an encryption key
Your browser creates a unique AES-256-GCM key for this transfer using the Web Crypto API.
🔒
Text is encrypted locally
Your text is encrypted on your device before anything is transmitted. The server never sees the plaintext.
📡
Only ciphertext reaches the server
The server receives scrambled data it cannot read — even if it wanted to.
📲
Receiver decrypts in their browser
When they enter the 6-digit code, their browser decrypts locally. The server plays no role in decryption.
🗑️
Ciphertext is permanently deleted
The moment it is retrieved, the encrypted data is permanently wiped from the server. Nothing remains.

The result: even if our server was breached, hacked, or subpoenaed, there is nothing readable to hand over. The encryption key never exists on the server.

When You Need an Encrypted Clipboard

A standard online clipboard is fine for sharing public links or generic text. But for anything sensitive — access codes, private notes, confidential work content — you need encryption that the clipboard tool itself cannot break.

Common situations where an encrypted clipboard matters:

🔑 Access codes & PINs
Transfer temporary access details without storing them in chat history.
🏠 Private addresses
Share your home or office address without it appearing in message logs.
💼 Confidential work notes
Move sensitive work content between devices without using company tools.
🔐 WiFi credentials
Share network access details with guests without leaving a trace.
